16 (or 100) bodhisattvas
In the old days there were sixteen bodhisattvas
They all got into the bath together and realized the cause of water.
They called out, “This subtle touch reveals the light that is in everything.
We have reached the place where the sons and daughters
of the Buddha live.”
—The Blue Cliff Record Case 78
Unhappiness is all about being separate, constructing ourselves as a separate device in the universe.
A bath, though, cleanses us and dissolves pain; it is the most part of tears, ocean, and of our own cells. All the time, beneath our ideas and troubles, we are being carried along by a great current. Don’t forget to wash behind your ears, as my mother said.
What a great thing it is to step into the temple, to step into the place before there was sorrow or loss. In the end, everything comes down to the fabulous, extensive now that we are in.
There is no one to be worried, no one to be anxious, no flaw to find. The trouble that chases us can’t find us.
When we enter the temple together, there is a mysterious field effect. We are companions on the road and walking the road, we are lighter, funnier. And at peace.
—John Tarrant

Dear PZI Friends — We come together across oceans and continents with our members, teachers, musicians, and those new to PZI. We discover things together which we could not discover alone. There’s a scholarship fund for PZI members who want to attend and need financial aid. If you’re not a member, we invite you to join us today!
Thank you for all you have offered PZI over these many months and decades.
It’s nice to have each other as we find our way.
