Dragons and tigers, hidden and crouching, and bears, song birds, and tall, thin mystics and plump, kind librarians in aprons, and queens who give gifts.
All things appear in sesshin, all things that fall under the law of change and sesshin makes a vessel in which fires and darkness and kindness occur together, transforming us.

Our Great Summer Sesshin is an extended 7-day & 6-night in-person gathering beginning Monday June 8th at 7:30 pm, and completing Sunday June 14th at 12:00 pm.
There will be personal interviews and deep meditation, teaching talks and some conversations, old friends and new, brilliant teachers, music, great enlightenment, mistakes, and delight.

Retreat registration includes room and board as well as free access to morning meditations in the PZI Summer Open Temple.
Mount Madonna Center provides vegetarian/vegan meals during sesshin.
Getting There: For those flying to sesshin, please review Mount Madonna’s guide on getting to the Center here. Shuttles and rideshares may be available. To coordinate, please contact our transportation liaison Donna asap.
*Please Note: Those registering for a campsite or either the single or double cabin options will require a short, somewhat steep, walk to the zendo, dining hall, and bathrooms. Camping gear is not provided.
PZI Members: If you want to attend and are in need, please don’t hesitate to request financial aid through our donor-driven Scholarship Fund. Contact our registrar Lora for scholarship and any other retreat questions.
