ZEN LUMINARIES Series: Susan Murphy in Conversation with Jon Joseph Roshi January 22nd
The Pacific Zen Luminaries series hosted by Jon Joseph Roshi features a wide range of Zen Buddhist scholars, writers, poets, artists, and teachers. Proceeds from each event, including teacher dana, go to the guest speaker.
Our suggested donation range is $10 for PZI Members and $12 for Non-Members, but the scale slides depending on one’s ability to contribute.
We also greatly appreciate Patrons, who help support the program with larger gifts of $50–250.

A monk asked, “In whom does Buddha cause passion? Zhaozhou replied, “Buddha causes passion in all of us.”
“How do we get rid of it?” the monk asked.
“Why should we get rid of it?” responded Zhaozhou.
