Join us on Sunday for mysterious wanderings in the Dao.
Master Eastwall (Tung-kuo) asked Zhuangzi, “This thing called the Dao—where does it exist?”
Zhuangzi said, “There’s no place it doesn’t exist.”
“Come,” said Master Eastwall, “you must be more specific!”
“It is in the ants and crickets.”
“As low as that?”
“It is in the panic grass.”
“But that’s lower still!”
“It is in the tiles and shards.”
“How can it be so extreme?”
“It is in the piss and shit!”
Master Eastwall made no reply.
Zhuangzi said, “We wander in borderless vastness; Great Knowledge enters in, and we don’t know where it will ever end.”
Meditation is not a task with a known goal. It’s something you can’t do wrong, a chance for the things of this world to come towards you and to meet you, for doors to open by themselves, and for us to see where the ancient paths lead.
Waking up is something we do together, in the online temple on Sunday. We love it when you join us.
