SUNDAY SERIES: Lazy Summer Afternoons Under the Rose Apple Tree with Tess Beasley & Jesse Cardin
Four-Part Series: August 6, 13, 20 & 27
One golden afternoon, a young prince happened upon eternity under the rose-apple tree. As the story goes:
Time stops, the sun stands still in the sky, he is sheltered in the leafy twilight. There is nothing to add, no resistance to strip away, everything is complete and sufficient.
A question then appears, unbidden, a question that begins a journey we still take up today:
Are you afraid of this happiness?
In this four-part series, we’ll lean into the dog days of summer and explore what the old Chinese masters coined as wu wei, or the high art of doing nothing. We’ll find our own spot under the rose-apple tree and perhaps discover how awakening appears everywhere when we forget to hold it off.
