John’s beautifully illustrated book The Story of the Buddha has come out. It’s the sort of legend we can hear over and over again. When we hear the ancient tale\, a piece of the story rises to meet your life. \nIt’s good to meditate and hold a vessel in unsettled times. \nTelling the Buddha Story is a great occasion. It’s one of the wonderful PZI events. Join us. \n—John Tarrant\, Allison Atwill\, & Tess Beasley \n \n\nThe style of this retreat will follow Pacific Zen Institute’s Open Mind format\, which comes out of our impulse to make a Zen meditation retreat that is native to American culture. \nParticipants typically range from experienced meditators to complete beginners\, and often find that this retreat has a powerful effect on their lives and understanding of the practice. \nOpen Mind carries the deep strength of an intensive meditation retreat inside a form that works for people with different levels of experience.
