Shoushan's Three Phrase BS76
KOAN:
Shoushan said to the assembly, “If you get it the first time you hear it, you will be a teacher of buddhas and patriarchs.
If you get it the second time, you will be the teacher of humans and gods.
If you get it the third time, you cannot even save yourself.”
“When did you get it teacher?”
Shoushan answered: “The moon sets at midnight. I walk alone through the town.”
