A One-Day Koan Meditation Retreat in San Antonio, Texas
When the tree withers and the leaves fall, what is that?
Golden wind revealing itself. – Zen Koan
In meditation, we can see things as they fall away. The mind is laid bare and with it, the world around us. As we look deeper, things only become simpler and the current beneath the universe presents itself through the bamboo leaves swaying in the wind, the rain pit-patting on the aluminum, and our own thoughts swirling together in dust devils of meaning.
Koans have a way of revealing reality without spoiling the surprise. A koan is a guide and accomplice in our enlightenment and so we can stick close to it. This retreat is designed to facilitate that relationship, and in doing so making us vulnerable to tasting the richness of everyday life.
Join Jesse Cardin, Sensei, for a day of meditation, teaching, and conversation. No previous experience with meditation necessary. Bring your own lunch and curiosity. Koans provided.
PZI Members: $30, Non-Members: $40. Please contact Jesse Cardin with any scholarship requests, questions, comments or concerns: email@example.com or 805-208-7788
