one-day Summer Koan Retreat in Santa Cruz!

This is an opportunity to experience working with koans
in a conversational, collaborative style. Koans open you
to an awareness of your naturally enlightened mind from
within the condition of the life you're living right now.

This program will include meditation, interactive koan work,
and conversation. No experience is needed to participate.
Come as you are.

at a private residence in the Santa Cruz area

Rachel Mansfield-Howlett, Roshi is a teacher with Pacific Zen Institute and Desert Lotus Zen Sangha in Phoenix, AZ. She has degrees in botany and law, and practices environmental law in Santa Rosa, California.

Rachel teaches koans as a way of encouraging people to discover the wisdom and joy inherent in their own lives.
